At Wolf Within Adventures we have been offering authentic wilderness experiences for over 15 years. Our goal has always been to provide a safe wilderness experience which meets your expectations and stirs within you the same love, wonder, and enthusiasm for nature and the great outdoors that we possess.

Our easily accessible Base Camp is located on a beautiful private lake just north of the village of Temagami, Ontario. Whitney Lake provides the perfect setting to prepare for your adventure in a very relaxing atmosphere. The facility includes the main lodge, a guest cabin and camping facilities. The cabins are all pine, warm and very cozy with a woodstove and propane lights. From our base camp we have access to extensive canoe routes with countless options for trips close to home and unlimited opportunities for longer trips.

Our guides have been hand picked for their extensive experience in the back country. They are certified in first aid and they will provide instructions and technical skills in low impact camping techniques for a safe and rewarding trip.

Francesco Libertini

Francesco Libertini owns and operates Wolf Within Adventures. Francesco hails from the Italian Adventure Academy as a specialized instructor in survival techniques, canoeing, climbing, orienteering and wilderness first aid. His credits include technical advisor to the Italian team for the Camel Trophy (International Land Rover Race).

In 1991 Francesco moved from the town of Bologna to the Italian Alps, working as a musher instructor and dog trainer for the first Italian dogsled school. Fascinated by the dogs and the life style, after five years at the school Francesco decided to take the step and move to Canada as he believed that it is in this environment that dog sledding was meant to be practiced.

Francesco apprenticed himself to the Grand North in northern Quebec where he spent six months travelling by dog team the traditional routes of the "Coureurs du Bois", the runners of the woods. It was during these winter treks, in a harsh environment, with extreme cold temperatures, that Francesco truly learned the skills of northern survival. Looking back he recognizes the experience as a very transformative journey that led to him to pursue his dream by bringing into life Wolf Within Adventures.

Since 1996 Francesco has collaborate with many canoe camps and outfitters in the Temagami area, including guiding extended canoe trips and leadership programs with youth at-risk from Temagami throughout the Hudson Bay watershed.

If he's not guiding or playing with his dogs he can be found scouting new trails, practicing with bow and arrows or fishing in some remote lake.
